From Ember · Field notes

No AI yet? You're closer than you think.

Consulting, finance, research, nonprofits — every firm we meet is one good engagement away from an AI stack that actually works.

Most companies don't have an AI problem. They have an AI pile. A Copilot license someone turned on. A ChatGPT tab open in every browser. A folder of PDFs nobody can search. The tools are all there — what's missing is the stack: one coherent system where your documents, your workflows, and your agents actually talk to each other.

That's what AllEmber does. We're AI implementation consultants. We go into companies of any background — consulting shops, finance teams, research labs, small businesses — and figure out how it all fits together: a unified AI stack, automated workflows, and an engineer who keeps it moving as your business changes.

What that looks like in practice

For Build Consulting, we built the firm's knowledge system end to end — a retrieval layer over years of institutional documents, so their people and their agents can ask the firm anything and get grounded answers. We automated the documents themselves: statements of work that used to eat a consultant's afternoon now draft themselves from the firm's own data. We turbocharged the Copilot they already had, backed by Qdrant retrieval and wired for the open web. And every agent they run talks to the others over one shared MCP server. One brain, many hands.

At Sapien Labs, we found what most firms have: sharp people improvising — some on Claude, some on ChatGPT, nothing shared. We're getting the entire organization onto Claude, we introduced the same shared brain so every agent can borrow context from the rest, and we connected their agents to the third-party MCP servers they need. Their agents don't just answer questions anymore; they go find things out.

You don't need to know what to ask for

You don't arrive with requirements — that's our job. An engagement starts with a free consult: we scope what your company actually needs. Workflows, tools, platforms, the works. Then we implement it. And if you never want to think about it again, you keep one of our engineers on retainer, so your stack stays cutting edge while you run your business.

It's the same three-pronged approach whether you're a two-person shop or a two-hundred-person firm: finance teams usually start with their tables and filings, consultancies with proposals and firm memory, research groups with overnight web sweeps, marketers with a secured Google Ads connection. Wherever you start, it ends the same way — one stack, tended.

The firms pulling ahead aren't the ones with the biggest AI budgets. They're the ones that stopped letting the pile grow and started treating AI like infrastructure: built once, tended always.
